The Americas and Oceania
About: The Americas and Oceania were very isolated societies, primarily
because they were either island locations or because they weren't
colonized and advanced as quickly as say early Europe.
Differences: Because of that there were some differences from a normal society that was not
isolated. These societies had some benefits but lacked many important
characteristics that the major powerhouse dynasties and empires had.
Some characteristics that made the societies not as strong was the
inability to trade, the lack of new technology, and the inexperience
of other religions. Another key difference was they didn't have
influences from outside societies to influence how they ran, or other
key ideas, like technology, transportation, or the construction of
major structures.
Similarities: However the isolated areas still built cities,
governments, and had social norms, even if the norms and beliefs were
far more traditional.
Problems: The lands became very shaped by this Isolation because they were very
unique areas far different from a more civilized Europe at the time.
In some ways the culture and societies were better. For example their
was less dilemmas and laws that were unusual and unnecessary. However
for the most part it caused the Americas and Oceania problems because
in the long run they weren't as developed in later years that would
have helped them in battles and keeping a strong organized experience.
The main negative was the fact that there was no ability to trade,
communicate, and learn from other communities and societies, which was
the biggest burden from isolation in the Americas and Oceania
settlements
